It is with great sadness that we must advise our Members and the Ulster & Ireland water polo community of the passing of the ‘Father’ of our Club, Gerry (Big G) Hanna Senior.  We send our sincere condolences to Gerry’s wife Alice and to the entire Hanna family.
The Hanna family are one of Cathal Brugha and Ireland water polo’s leading family dynasties with many active players, Coaches and volunteers supporting our sport…. Gerry’s legacy is all around us and forever with us, clearly visible within all of the successes brought to the Cathal Brugha Club.
Gerry was a former Cathal Brugha Coach, Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and even found time to get himself elected as President of Ireland Water Polo (twice!)
When meeting Gerry he always had a warm and welcoming smile on his face and, giving those famous braces a twang, he would ask about the latest Club exploits…. we will all miss you Big G, Rest in Peace my friend.
